As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Pakistani citizens traveling through Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, Iran, during a layover might need a transit visa, even if they don't plan to leave the airport premises.

Visa requirements can change over time and might vary based on nationality, airport policies, and specific travel itineraries. Pakistani citizens are advised to check the most recent visa regulations for Iran, especially regarding transit visas for layovers at Imam Khomeini International Airport.

It's recommended to:

Check Official Sources: Contact the Embassy or Consulate of Iran in Pakistan or visit their official website for the most updated information on transit visa requirements for Pakistani citizens transiting through Iran.

Consult Airlines: Reach out to your airlines (in this case, Pegasus and Kam Air) and inquire if a transit visa is necessary for your specific itinerary and terminal changes at Imam Khomeini International Airport.

Duration of Layover: Determine the length of your layover. Some countries offer exemptions for short layovers, but this varies widely and might not apply to all nationalities or situations.

Plan Ahead: If a transit visa is required, make sure to apply for it well in advance of your travel date to avoid any last-minute complications or issues.

Given the potentially sensitive nature of travel between countries and changing visa policies, it's crucial to verify this information from official and reliable sources or through direct communication with the relevant authorities closer to your travel date. Always rely on the most current and official information to ensure a smooth transit experience.
