Boryspil International Airport

Kyiv is the largest city and the capital of Ukraine is located in the north-central part of the country. It is one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe dating back to the 5th century. It was part of the Soviet Union till 1917 when it declared independence from Russia Empire. The city has a rich Christian and Jewish legacy. Some of the sites have been categorized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Boryspil International Airport is located around 29 km of the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. It is the largest airport in the country that welcomes 65% passengers every year. It mostly caters to international and intercontinental flights. Kyiv is served by two airports. Thus, it caters to increase incoming traffic. 

The foundation of the airport was laid on 7th July 1959 and was named as Kyiv Tsentralnyi. In the late 1980s, Boryspil started welcoming international flights. This also leads to the expansion of the airport. It became part of Ukraine after the end of the cold war and separation and was identified as the International Airport of Ukraine. In the 2000s, it started serving long distanced flights and increasingly domestic traffic that led to various expansion projects. It currently handles the majority of the passenger traffic in Kyiv.

Terminals

Boryspil International Airport has one operational, one cargo and a VIP terminal. 

Terminal B - Terminal B was constructed in the Soviet era and served as a domestic and international flight hub. It has many travel agencies, banks, cafes, shops, and other business centers. There are also check-in desks, waiting areas, and luggage storage area.

Terminal D - Terminal D was constructed in 2008 and opened for civilians in 2012. It has a capacity of 3100 passengers per hour. It is now the hub for domestic and international flights. It has all modern facilities like other international airports. 

Terminal F - Terminal F was a cargo facility that opened in 2010. Terminal F has a capacity of handling 900 passengers per hour and serves low-cost airlines. Terminal F mainly focuses on reducing the air traffic load of Terminal B. It has been renovated to handle the increasing flow of passengers.
