Glasgow Airport (GLA) formerly known as Abbotsinch Airport is around 15.9 km from the city centre and is located in Paisley, Renfrewshire. The airport has the capacity of handling around 11 million passenger making it the second busiest airport in Scotland and eigth busiest in the United Kingdom. West Pier - The West Pier also commonly known as International Pier was built in 1989 as an extension project and is mainly hub for international and long-haul airlines. The pier has around 27-36 gates and can facilitate A380 aircraft.
Central Pier - This was built in 1966 and is hub for mainly British aircrafts.
East Pier - The East Pier was constructed in the mid 1970s and is mainly for low cost airlines.
