Manchester Airport (MAN) is an international airport around 7.5 miles south-west of Manchester city centre. It is the third busiest airport in the United Kingdom in terms of passenger numbers. It spreads over 3,280 yards and an area of 560 hectares. It is the 13th airport serving around more than 200 destinations.
The airport officially opened in 1938 and was famously known as Ringway Airport and is still known with the same name. It was used in Second World War and served as a base for Royal Air Force. The airport is owned and managed by the Manchester Airport Group (MAG), an Australian Finance House. Manchester Airport has one terminal that welcomes more than 27 million passenger from over 200 destrinations every year.
