The Grand Bazaar, which is one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world, has more than 4.000 shops and 60 streets where you can find local and traditional products such as pottery, carpet & rugs, leather clothing, gold and diamond jewellery and hand-woven fabrics, spices, and Turkish delights in an authentic oriental atmosphere.

-Spice Bazaar / Egyptian Bazaar

Spice Bazaar, which was built in 1660, is one of the popular touristic places in Istanbul where colourful spices & medicinal plants, Turkish delights, dried fruits and nuts, tea, Turkish coffee, pottery, and souvenirs are sold. There are approximately 100 shops in the Spice Bazaar.

-Arasta Bazaar (Closed on Sundays)

Arasta Bazaar, an old open-air market in Sultanahmet in the heart of Istanbul, is located behind the Blue Mosque. The bazaar was built in the 17th century and converted into a market in the late 1980s-90s. In comparison to Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, Arasta Bazaar is smaller, quieter, and less crowded. There are more than 70 stores where you can buy rugs & carpets, jewellery, spices, teas, coffee, pottery, handicrafts, souvenirs, tiles, ceramics, and textiles.

-Old Book Bazaar (Sahaflar Carsisi)

Old Book Bazaar, which is known as Sahaflar Çarşısı, is located in Beyazit Square. During the Ottoman period, bookstores used to be situated close to madrasahs and hereby the bazaar is very close to the main tourist spots.

There are more than 20 book stores in the Bazaar.
